Child and Family Therapy Department provides mental health counseling and psychiatric services to children and families who have concerns about mental, emotional or behavioral issues. Children may show distress through depression, anxiety, school failure, sleep and eating disorder, these issues may stem from family violence, divorce, sexual abuse, abandonment, parental abuse or drugs or alcohol, and foster care placement.

Individual and Family Counseling: We provide client-centered, family-focused counseling to clients in the home, school, community or in the office. Counseling focuses on the stabilization of families and resolving issues that inhibit children from doing well.

Court Mandated Co-Parenting Program - Program to support parents and children through the trauma of divorce or separation helping parents address their children’s needs during and after divorce. This three-hour one time class is offered twice per month. $45 per parent.

Psychiatric Evaluation, Consultation and Medication Management (ages 3-17): A psychiatrist or Nurse Practitioner will perform a 90 minute psychiatric assessment to clarify part treatment efficiency, current issues (social, academic, legal) contributing medical problems, and psychiatric diagnoses. A comprehensive plan will be formulated, including medication management when necessary, and the client will be followed on a regular basis until stable and care can be transferred back to the PCP.

ChildSafe Program: Provides treatment for children and adolescents who have been sexually abused and provides support for their families (ages 3-17)

Therapeutic Groups: Providing Group Therapy experiences for children and families. Group size is limited to 10 people. Children and family members must be enrolled as clients at Old Mill Center or have a primary therapist in the community. Not all groups run at all times. All groups are facilitated by Master’s Level therapists.
